  1. Screening of the Films – "The Day My God Died" and "What Kind of Man of You?"
    On 2nd Dec 2008 the Women’s Studies Centre, NU in association with Nagaland State Social Welfare Board & the American Centre, Kolkota presented screening of two films to create more awareness and sensitize regarding issues of trafficking women and children and AIDS. The program was attended by the Prof K.Kannan and his Lady wife; Mrs Sano Vamuzo chairperson of Nagaland Women’s commission and members; officials of the state departments; NGOs and activists and concerned individuals.The two films screened were What Kind of a Man Are You and The Day My God Died. The program was held at Conclave Hall, Kolkata.

  2. Translations of Women know your Legal Rights from English to Tenyidie and Ao Naga dialects including dissemination of the same.

  3. The International Women’s Day 8th March, 2011, was marked by Women’s Studies Centre,NU by organizing an awareness generation programme on Legal Rights of Women at the Department of Tenyidie. Brochure “Women Know Your Legal Rights” translated into Tenyidie were distributed to the Post Graduate Students and Faculty of Tenyidie Department, NU.

  4. An Essay competition was organized by the centre on the occasion of the International Women’s Day on 8th of March 2014. In line with the theme Equality for Women is Progress for All the competition was conducted for the post graduate students of the campus with the goal of raising awareness and to disseminate the importance of equality and social justice for women. To further the goal of the competition, the Centre has made an attempt to compile select essays so as to promote and increase wider readership.

  5. Radio and televisions talks on women and gender related concerns were given with the intent to create awareness and sensitize the public on the importance of gender equality.
