Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC)

The Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), Guwahati—an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Govt. of India—issued a work order selecting Nagaland University (Kohima, Nagaland) as the "Host Institute" for the establishment of an Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC). Accordingly, the EDC was established under the leadership of Dr. Dhrubajyoti Bordoloi and Dr. DitalakMpanme of the Department of Management as Coordinator and Joint Coordinator respectively. The EDC is currently being hosted by the Department of Management, Nagaland University Kohima Campus, Meriema

  • Project Title: "Establish, Develop and Manage Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) and Incubation Centres (IC) in North East Region's Educational Institutions".
  • Sponsoring Agency: North Eastern Council (NEC), Shillong.
  • Implementing Nodal Agency: Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), Guwahati.
  • Date of Issue: October 10, 2023 (Signed/Acknowledged by the Registrar on October 12, 2023).

The IIE has closely supported Nagaland University by provisioning assets, funding, and ecosystem guidance.

The IIE has funded the EDC for conduct of the following programmes during the years 2024-25
  • Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp (EAC): 3 events targeting 120 beneficiaries (40 unique participants per event).
  • Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP): 3 events targeting 30 beneficiaries (10 unique students per batch).
  • Faculty Development Program (FDP): 1 event for 15 faculties, with additional opportunities for residential training in Guwahati and state-level FDPs.
